Who We Are

What Is TalentQ

Founded in 2010, TalentQ is a graduate student-led organization focused on helping connect future leaders with top marketing professionals to inspire careers and identify the emerging talent needs of tomorrow's leading organizations.

Our TalentQ initiative, run by Northwestern University's Integrated Marketing Communications graduate students with support from faculty, staff, and corporate friends of Medill, is a committee to engage students, alums and professionals in a common goal to better understand the talents and skills necessary for success in today's marketing communications field.

We aim to bridge the gap between industry practice and in-class learning by connecting our students with employers and industry professionals.

What We Do

SPEAKERS & PANEL DISCUSSION SERIES

In our quest to uncover the talents and skills necessary for success in marketing communications, TalentQ brings in marketing professionals from a variety of backgrounds (both agency and client side) and industries such as CPG, technology, retail, fast food, not-for-profit and more.

ANNUAL EXPOSITION

Our speaker series throughout the year culminates in our annual fall Medill TalentQ Expo, held in downtown Chicago. Each year seeks to explore a new theme and development in the world of marketing communications.

WORKSHOPS

In addition to our Speaker & Panel Discussion Series, each quarter we hold 1-2 workshops on tangible skills to help our students develop their professional network and profile. Workshops are held by industry professionals. Past workshops have included "Portfolios: Not Just For Creatives Anymore," from mcgarrybowen.

ALUMNI NETWORKING EVENTS

Each year, TalentQ holds an alumni networking event in downtown Chicago to allow current and previous IMC alumni as well as marketing professionals to network and connect. To get involved, email us at medilltalentq@gmail.com
